TutrRegister interest

Privacy notice

In short: when you register interest, we keep your email address so we can send you occasional emails about the Tutr beta and new courses. Nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email, and ask us to delete your details.

Who we are

Tutr is run by Luke Hennerley, who is responsible for your data (the “controller”). For any question or request about your data, email hello@tutr.dev.

What we collect

When you register interest, we keep:

  • your email address;
  • when you registered, and that it was on tutr.dev;
  • which version of the form’s wording you agreed to.

We also keep a record of the emails we send you, and whether you unsubscribe. You don’t have to give us your email address. If you don’t, we just can’t email you.

Why we email you

We email you because you asked us to. You consented when you submitted the form with the words “Get occasional emails from Tutr about the beta and new courses. Unsubscribe any time.” We send a welcome email straight away, then only occasional emails about the Tutr beta and new courses.

To keep the form safe from abuse, Cloudflare counts how often each IP address submits it in a short time. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in stopping spam. We never store your IP address with your email address.

We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising or use it to make automated decisions about you.

Who helps us

Two companies process your data on our behalf, under contracts that protect it:

  • PostHog keeps our email list and sends our emails. Our list is stored in PostHog’s EU region, in Germany.
  • Cloudflare hosts tutr.dev, receives the form and protects the site.

Both companies are based in the US, so your data may be accessed from there. Those transfers are protected by the UK–US data bridge, with the UK’s approved contract clauses as a backup.

How long we keep it

We keep your details while you are subscribed. About every two years we will ask you to confirm you still want our emails, and if you don’t, we delete your details. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away and keep only what we need to make sure we never email you again. If you ask us to delete your details, we do.

Your rights

You can stop our emails at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@tutr.dev. This is your right to object to direct marketing and to withdraw your consent. It doesn’t affect emails we sent before.

Under UK data protection law, you also have the right to:

  • get a copy of the data we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it is wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • receive it in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email hello@tutr.dev. We will reply within one month.

Cookies

tutr.dev doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and doesn’t track you. Our emails don’t track whether you open them.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please emailhello@tutr.dev first, and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page before we do. This is version 1, from2 November 2026.
